NAMBOUR SWAP MEET

SUMMARY OF EVENT

The Sunshine Coast Antique Car Club’s annual Nambour Swap is held on the last Saturday in July on the Nambour Showgrounds, 80 Coronation Avenue. Subject to weather, which may delay mark out, gates will open for site holders from about 10.00 am on the Friday before the Swap Meet. 

Approximately 600 sites are available for advanced bookings with a further 300 non-bookable casual sites available from midday on the Friday before the Swap Meet and until 5.00 am on the morning of the Swap Meet unless sold out earlier. 

Casual sites cannot be booked in advance. Casual site holders are allocated sites on a ‘first come first served’ basis, and will be escorted to a site. 

Public entry will be from 6.00 am on Saturday. The admission fee is $5.00 per person, no entry charge for children under 12 years of age, and parking is $5.00 per vehicle.  

The Sunshine Coast Council’s local laws and the Nambour Showgrounds’ Management Plan states that dogs are not allowed off-leash and no fires are permitted on the Showgrounds. 

There will be ATMs on site. 

Food vendors are only permitted by negotiation in advance of The Nambour Swap. 

Site chargers will increase from 2026

 

1. Uncovered site fee:  $30.00. This includes1 person entry + 1 vehicle and box trailer (approx. site size is 10m x 5m).
2. Covered site fee:  $40.00. This includes 1 person entry + 1 vehicle and a box trailer (approx. site size is 6m x 4m).
3. Any additional vehicles entering temporarily to assist pre-booked or casual site holders (to deliver goods, help unload etc.) will be charged $30.00.
4. Overnight stays and camping:  $20.00. The registration form accommodates your application to do so (see points below).
5. Overnight stays and camping are only permittedby the Sunshine Coast Council at the Nambour Showgrounds on the Friday night before the Swap Meet.
6. Swappers staying overnight in a caravan, campertrailer, mobile home, RV, tent, campervan or any other vehicle or structure fitted out for the intended use of camping or overnight stays are required to pay a fee of $20.00 per site for the night.

·      Site set up is permitted after 10.00am Friday. Entry is available all night via the main gates to the Showgrounds. If the gate is not manned proceed directly to the SCACC caravan to the right of the Main Pavilion. Pre-booked swappers must collect their registration envelope containing their windscreen site/s sticker/s and wrist bands. Site stickers must be visible on driver’s side of windscreen.

 

·      All casual swappers must proceed to the SCACC caravan to the right of the Main Pavilion to pay, receive their windscreen sticker and wrist band/s before being allocated a swap site. 

 

·      Do not exceed your allotted space (see site charges for site sizes). If in doubt check in advance. If you have a tandem trailer and vehicle, two sites will be required.

 

·      If you have pre-booked more than one site and have several vehicles, on entry drivers must provide the name under which the sites have been pre-booked to facilitate access.

 

·      All swappers must be on site before 4.00am on Saturday to commence trading at 6.00am. Should a pre-booked site not be occupied by 4.00am it may be sold to casual swappers.

 

·      Swappers are not covered by the SCACC’s public liability for incidents on their site.

 

·      Some sites may have to be relocated in the event of wet weather.

·      Swap site holders are not to move vehicles, in or out of the Showgrounds, between 4.00am and 1.00pm Saturday.

 

·      No trading prior to 6.00am Saturday.

 

·      Sales of firearms, parts or ammunition is not permitted.

 

·      There is no provision for display cars.

 

·      Please treat our volunteers with respect.

 

·      Prohibited activities – Under the Nambour Showgrounds Management Plan and local laws, within all areas of the Nambour Showgrounds the following are prohibited at all times and penalties apply – there are to be no fires and no dogs are to be off-leash.

Once booked should you need to change anything about your booking, please call 07 5441 1084 or 0472 596 973. 

·      One registration pack per site is filed under the name of the site holder. This contains a site sticker for your windscreen, wristband/s and next year’s registration form. This pack must be collected on arrival at the main entrance to the Showgrounds or at the SCACC caravan.

·      If the main gate is not manned please drive to the right of the Main Pavilion to the SCACC’s caravan to collect your pack of information.

·      Should you require basic first aid provisions during the Swap Meet please contact 0472 596 973 or one of our volunteers and you will be met at the First Aid post. This is located under the Grandstand.

·      If an incident causes significant injury, please call 000, advise a SCACC member or call 0472 596 973 so emergency vehicle access can be readily facilitated.

·      In the event of an emergency the evacuation sites are on Heritage Terrace and the Crusher’s Gate area (at the end of Cattleman’s Drive), unless directed otherwise by SCACC Swap Meet personnel.

·      Swappers are encouraged to book and pay for their next year’s sites by 2.00pm on Swap Day.

Swappers who do not have a re-bookable site may go on a waiting list for the following year’s bookable sites.

The booking station, next to the SCACC caravan, will be available all day Friday and Saturday until 2.00pm.
